Finish-The Sentence Friday: Movies!

Finish the following sentence. "The next movie you should put on your Blockbuster or Netflix queue is…."

I’ll start. The next movie you should put on your Blockbuster/Netflix queue is “Lars and the Real Girl.”  I know, I know. A movie about a guy who buys a blow-up doll and imagines she’s his real companion sounds a little strange…and possibly dirty. But it’s actually a really sweet, clean, and touching movie. I felt like all of the elements (writing, directing, acting) came together to tell a wonderfully bizarre  story illustrating the true meaning of community.

WALL-E! Yes, it's still in theatres, but it's a movie everyone needs to see, ponder, and see again. Sweet. Romantic. Political. Deep. Funny. Beautiful.

Juno--sweet, light, comedy with some depth. Blood Diamond--makes you think, not for the faint of heart. Ditto on Lars. Pride & Prejudice--not exactly new but a fun romance/chick flick. Kite Runner--serious, intense, again not for the faint of heart. I could go on but these are the most recent ones I've seen.

"Confessions of a Superhero" a tender-hearted documentary. But "Being There" is in my all time top ten, its fabulous! Rent that one too...

CRASH. A provocative, not for the faint of heart movie about the need for human touch across racial/ethnic lines.
